BERLIN, July 11 (Xinhua) -- With RB Leipzig expressing ambitious goals ahead of the 2019/2020 season, the battle for the German national title no longer seems an exclusive matter for the leading forces Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

New Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann said his side is ready to do the next steps and intends to win some silverware.

"I don't want anyone to be satisfied. I want everyone to be aware: There are some more steps to be done," the 31-year-old former TSG Hoffenheim coach emphasized. The East Germans are about to set sail for new shores "and win something big."

According to Oliver Mintzlaff, 'hungry for more' is the motto of the Champions League participant. The club's CEO promised "more effort in the Bundesliga" to increase the pressure on Bayern and Dortmund and improvements on the international stage.

Mintzlaff said books are open for a new era after the club's promotion to Germany's top flight in 2016.

The youngest competing squad and the youngest coaching staff are expected to lift the club to a new level as not only the so-called RB DNA (speed, aggressive pressing, passion, and emotion) is going to play an essential role but the new input delivered by the coach.

Team captain Willi Orban claims to be convinced "we will reach a higher level with Nagelsmann." If the team follows the new coach's demands, "it is inevitable that we will be even more successful as we were until now," the 26-year-old defender underlined.

With five weeks to go until match day first is to be kicked off, "we already feel the effect of a fresh breeze," Orban commented.

Some of the key issues in Nagelsmann' strategy are to widen his team's options as he is regarding four game situations as particularly important. His team controlling the ball and the opponents' ball -possession aside of the two moments "things switch to the other side," the manager said.

Nagelsmann is somehow the project's figurehead.

To realize the announced silverware, Rasenballsports sports director and successor of Ralf Rangnick, Markus Kroesche, is busy looking for new faces to improve the team's quality up front.

Despite top-class attackers such as Yussuf Poulsen, Timo Werner, Jean-Kevin Augustin, and Emil Forsberg, last season's squad turned out to be not big enough to bear the load of three competitions. Pundits recommend to overthink principals such as to mainly sign youngsters not older than 23.

Former German international and three times Bundesliga top scorer Ulf Kirsten said "without additional experience, you hardly win any titles. Leipzig has to change its patterns." The mixture of youthful panache and experience make champions, the 53-year-old 1993 German Cup winner added.

According to Kirsten, it might be a size too big to win the Championship for Leipzig already, "but they definitely will be part of the game although I rather expect them to win a competition such as the German Cup." RB lost last season's Cup final against Bayern by 3-0 and crossed the Bundesliga's finish line as third.

The lack of experience of some of Leipzig's performers is a shared fact when it comes to the coaching staff. Therefore, Nagelsmann said, he is going to count on the advice of his predecessor Rangnick, who left after seven years to work for the club owner, energy-drink manufacturer Red Bull as "head of global sports development" supervising the companies clubs in Europe, the USA and South-America.

"We don't see a lack of experience, we see a great chance and vitalizing new ideas," Mintzlaff said talking about Nagelsmann and his assistants Robert Klauss (34) and Moritz Volz (36).
