JAKARTA, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- China extended golden run at the Asian Games here on Thursday as defending champion Si Yajie and world champion Peng Jianfeng claimed victories in the women's 10m platform and men's 1m springboard.

The 19-year-old former world champion Si proved she is still the best in the women's 10m platform as she took the lead after first three dives, winning a total of 405.45 points.

Si became the eldest Asiad champion of the event since the last four winners were all younger than 16-year-old, Lao Lishi at 14 in 2002, Wang Xin 14 in 2006, Hu Yadan 14 in 2010, herself Si Yajie 15 in 2014.

"It was a hard battle that I was under great pressure before the competition. I qualified for the berth against my teammate, Olympic champion Ren Qian the last day in Beijing before we came to Jakarta. I beat Ren for my better weight-control and better performance," revealed Si, who earned the ticket to Asian Games over Ren after three qualifiers since May.

As the 2013 world champion and runner-up in the Rio Olympic Games and 2017 World Championships, Si said she concentrated on her own dives.

The 14-year-old Zhang Jiaqi, reigning World Cup champion, had to concede to a silver medal in 395.30 and two DPR Korean divers Kim Mi Rae and Kim Kuk Hyang had a three-four finish.

China has swept 12 gold medals in the event from 1974-2018.

In the men's 1m springboard, Peng Jianfeng and Liu Chengmin continued to finish top two with 462.15 and 432.85, respectively. Woo Harm of South Korea took the bronze in 382.70.

China now has extended the one-two finish in all five men's 1m springboard on offer at the Asian Games in 1990, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018.
