NEW YORK, March 25 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted northern Chile at 22:55:53 GMT on Tuesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 105.5 km, was initially determined to be at 20.29 degrees south latitude and 69.31 degrees west longitude. ■
