Ukraine, Canada sign agreement on military training

KIEV, May 18 (Xinhua) -- The Ukrainian Interior Ministry said Friday it has signed a technical agreement with the Canadian Ministry of National Defense and the Canadian Armed Forces on military training for personnel.

According to the statement on the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's website, the deal covers areas such as explosive ordnance disposal training, medical training, as well as professional development and education of troops.

Under the pact, the two sides have agreed to cooperate in the field of strategic communications and logistics modernization.

The deal was signed in Kiev by Yury Allerov, commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, and William Seymour, deputy commander of Canadian Joint Operation Command.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said the agreement will boost the interaction between the officers of the two countries, allowing them to exchange their experience.
