KAMPALA, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Uganda on Wednesday ended its buildup games with Saudi Arabia ahead of the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cricket League Division Four tournament slated for April 28-May 6 in Malaysia.

Saudi Arabia won Uganda two games against one.

Uganda coach Steve Tikolo told Xinhua that the three games they played against Saudi Arabia have been good lessons because they can now build on certain technical aspects.

Some of the aspects include formation of play and strategy.

Aaron Ward, Head Coach of the Saudi Arabian national team said the games helped his team work on some aspects that were lacking.

"My team tried to work on a number of aspects, but I could see the Ugandan team was also experimenting a number of things," added the Saudi Arabia coach.

Ward said Uganda has showed that it will perform wonders at the Division Four event in Malaysia.

"They have shown that they have young good players who can perform at the big stage," Ward told Xinhua in an interview.

The buildup games with Saudi Arabia came after Uganda had a series of others with Qatar and India where it played 13 games, won nine and suffered four defeats.

Uganda was relegated to Division Four last year together with Malaysia after they finished fifth in the tournament hosted in Kampala.

In Malaysia they will play against the hosts, Jersey, Bermuda and Vanuatu.

The ICC World Cricket League Division Four in Malaysia will also form part of the 2017-2022 cycle of the World Cricket League, which determines the qualification for the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
